# Grant microphone access

> Ensure Clueso has access to your microphone

If your microphone isn’t working while recording with Clueso, you may need to update your browser’s microphone settings. Follow the steps below to make sure Clueso has the right permissions.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open microphone settings">
    In Chrome, open the microphone settings page by copying the following URL into your address bar: **chrome://settings/content/microphone.**

    <Note>
      If you're not on Google chrome, this link might be different. For example, on arc, use **arc://settings/content/microphone**
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select your microphone">
    Choose your preferred microphone from the dropdown list. In most cases, you can leave this setting as is; you’ll also be able to switch microphones directly from the Clueso extension.
